We are a church that is on mission in our community. Our local outreach ministries include KidsHope USA and Ruby’s Pantry. We would love for you to join us in this labor of love.
Kids Hope USA
We partner with Kids Hope USA, a national, non-profit organization that matches local churches with schools in a mentoring program for at-risk elementary students. New Hope partners with Hewitt-Texas Elementary School in Wausau as we seek to serve, encourage, develop relationships with, and pray for at-risk children. The program is simple, yet personal and meaningful:
- One child: an at-risk public elementary school child who needs a relationship with a caring adult;
- One hour: sixty critical minutes each week when a trained mentor befriends a child and becomes a stabilizing, positive influence;
- One church: a committed congregation who owns the program with its neighborhood school and provides a trained mentor and a behind-the-scenes prayer partner for each child; and
- One school: a school that welcomes this proven intervention to increase the academic skills of at-risk children, at no cost to the school.
Ruby's Pantry
New Hope partners with Ruby’s Pantry, a non-profit pop-up food pantry that serves throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota, in order to help fight hunger in our community. Ruby’s Pantry is held at New Hope the first Tuesday of the month, with the truck arriving at 1 p.m. and food distribution starting at approximately 2.15 p.m. Ruby’s Pantry asks for a $25 donation per food share which covers operational expenses. The food shares are large and always include a variety of items! There are no income or residency requirements. For more information, find Ruby’s Pantry – Wausau, WI on Facebook.
